2012 Winter Snow Sciences and Survival Seminar

The National Ski Patrol’s Eastern, Southern, and European Divisions will host the Winter Snow Sciences and Survival Seminar for Avalanche, Mountain Travel & Rescue, and Nordic instructors on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the U.S. Army’s Victor Constant Ski Lodge at West Point. For several years, this biennial event has been held at the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL ) in Hanover, NH.
Program A number of speakers are planned for a host of informative presentations on avalanche, MTR, Nordic, search & rescue, snow sciences, and history topics. Avalanche Awareness course credit will be provided for all NSP participants, if needed. A banquet with a special guest speaker is planned for Saturday evening at the lodge. All attendees who have a current NSP registration card will be eligible for a free lift pass Sunday at Belleayre Mountain.
The U.S. Military Academy has its own ski patrol and nordic ski team.
